Amherst County:
Route 29 – Shoulder widening/rumble strips/guardrail upgrades. Lane closures likely.
Route 29 Bus, Madison Hts – Shoulder widening/ rumble strips. Lane closures, delays likely. Est. comp. – August 2018.
Route 29 Bus, Madison Hts –Replace median barrier. Lane closures. Est. comp. – April 2019.
Route 29/151 – Working on new flashers.
Route 151 (601- county line) – Shoulder widening & rumble strip project through October 28.
Appomattox County:
Route 460 E, Appomattox Bypass – Contractor will remove current and install new temporary edge lines, install left lane closure and concrete barrier; expect delays. Est. comp. Fall 2018
Route 600 over Crane Creek (627-460) – Road closed 6/18-7/13 for superstructure replacement. Detour via Routes 627, 601, and 460 back to 600.
Plant mix treatment –Contractor crews will be working at various location. Delays likely.
Surface treatment –Work at various locations will create likely delays.
Buckingham County:
Route 15 Business – Crew will work on signs.
Route 20 (Rt. 15- James River Bridge, Albemarle) – Pavement widening, rumble strips, guardrail replacement/upgrades & paving through summer. Flaggers/pilot vehicles in use.
Route 633 (665-639) – Closed through 6/29 for repairs.
Route 633, Andersonville AHQ – Crew will work shoulders.
Routes 644 & 662, Andersonville AHQ & other locations – Crews work Rural Rustic projects.
Various – Crews will work surfaces, mow and respond to customer concerns.
Campbell County:
Route 24 @ 646 – Construction of roundabout & other improvements. Truck traffic over 44 ft restricted. Signage and traffic control in place. No work between 7:30-9 a.m. and 3-4 pm. Flaggers to ensure the safe, effective and efficient movement of traffic through the project.
Route 501 – Crew will replace back plates on signals.
Route 696 over Flat Creek (944-709) – Closed for bridge replacement 5/29 thru late July. Detour via Routes 24, 692, and 709 back to 696.
Surface treatment and plant mix- Contractors will perform work on various routes. Delays likely.
Charlotte County:
Route 604, Phenix AHQ and 4-lane primaries, Craftons Gate AHQ – Shoulder widening.
Route 608, Craftons Gate AHQ – Crews will work on safety project.
Route 695 over Cub Creek (617 – 727) – Closed thru 6/15 for bridge replacement. Detour via 617, 40 and 727 back to 695.
Phenix AHQ – Crew will mow primary intersections and various secondary routes.
Various – Crews will boom axe, work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
Cumberland County:
Route 45 – Crew will work on signs.
Surface treatment operations: Contractor crews will be performing surface treatment work at various location. Delays likely on Routes 667, 703 & 737.
Various – Crew will mow, work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
Halifax County:
Route 58 E over Dan River – Epoxy overlay applied. Expect delays.
Route 58 W over Lawson Creek (501-931) – Lane closure, 11’6” width restriction for bridge work.
Routes 58 and 360 – Crews will paint lines on roadway surfaces using slow moving equipment.
Route 626 – Crew will work on pavement messaging at railroad.
Route 670 over Buffalo Creek – Road closed from 639-637 for bridge replacement. Detour via 639 to 638 and 637 back to 670. Estimated completion – June 22.
Bethel AHQ – Crew will boom axe on primary routes and clean pipe and ditches.
Various–Crews will mow and respond to customer requests.
Lynchburg:
Route 29/460 (Odd Fellows Rd Int. & Odd Fellows Rd., Phase 1)– Vehicles enter/exit road. Temporary lane closures on 460 & Odd Fellows. Est. comp. 8/3/18. Speed – 45 mph.
Liberty Mtn Dr – Ramp to 460 E closed for roundabout project.
Odd Fellows Road –1-way traffic from Perkins St. to Bradley Dr. to widen road. Detour.
Odd Fellows/Mayflower intersection –Closed to traffic through June 20. Detours in place.
Odd Fellows to US 29 Exp. –Utility work ongoing. Bridge over RR will be closed for approximately 1 yr – date to be determined.
University Blvd –Road closure, signed detour until mid-August for roundabout construction.
Nelson County:
Routes 6 and 29 – Crew will work on pavement messaging.
Route 56 – Road closed June 4-7, weather permitting for crossing work. Signed detour in place.
Plant mix & surface treatment –Working on various routes will likely result in delays.
Pittsylvania County:
Route 29 Chatham Bypass – Contractor working on northbound median shoulder. Lane closure.
Route 41, Mt. Hermon area – Right lanes closed for sidewalk replacement. Est. comp. mid-June.
Route 614 over Tanyard Creek (1068 – 971) – Road closed bet. 7:30 am & 4:30 pm, June 11 & 12, weather permitting for drilling. Detour via 841 and 616.
Routes 637, Gretna AHQ, and 644, Rondo AHQ –Work on Rural Rustic projects.
Route 655 (729 – 734) – Road closed 6/11- 8/3 for bridge superstructure replacement. Detour via 1299, 58 and 734.
Brosville AHQ – Crew will clean pipes on secondary routes.
Gretna and Rondo AHQs – Crews will clean roadsides.
Kentuck AHQ – Crew will boom axe and work unpaved shoulders.
Mt. Airy AHQ – Crew will boom axe, repair shoulders and work non-surface roads.
Various –Crews will mow, ditch and respond to customers.
Prince Edward County:
Route 460 West –Milling and paving will take place overnight from bypass toward Prospect. Est. comp. Summer 2018.
Route 691 – Crew will prepare for Rural Rustic project.

Various – Crew will mow, cut brush, remove debris, work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
District-wide activities:
Bridge maintenance – Crews will perform maintenance on bridges.

Pipe rehabilitation – Crews will rehab/replace pipe at various locations.
