Let’s face it, these days there are plenty of casinos you can visit, and most major towns and cities will offer such venues. But when you turn your attention to playing at an online casino site, you are going to have literally thousands of different casino sites at your disposal.

With that in mind, and as some of you out there may be considering signing up to an online casino one day soon, today I am going to be comparing the pros and cons of playing at both online and land-based casinos.

However, it is not the software driven online casino sites that I will be comparing to land-based casinos, it is the next generation of such sites, those being casinos that offer live casino games to their players.

If you have never played at a live casino site, what you need to be aware of is that you are going to be able to play card and table games at those sites, however you will be placing your bets and wagers remotely from your own home onto real life gaming tables located in a casino studio.

You get to keep track of all of the gaming action on the table you are playing at via a live video stream, fed over the internet directly to your computer, and you for all intents and purposes play in much the same way as you would do when playing at those tables from home as you would do in a land based casino.

So when playing for example Blackjack at a live casino site, you initially place your bet, then get to see the cards being dealt out to you via the video stream then choose to either stand, split, double down or surrender your hand by clicking on the respective button on your computer screen.

Casino Games at Live and Land Based Casinos

The range of games that you are going to find in a land-based casino can be wide and varied, and as such you are going to find most card and table games available at those venues.

However, when it comes to the type of games you are going to find on offer to you at a live casino site, you will find it tends to be games such as Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat that most live dealer casino sites do tend to offer their customers.

As for the stake levels you are going to be able to gamble for, well make no mistake about it you will find both low to high stake tables on offer in moist land-based casinos and at live casino sites too.

However, the high limit tables at a live casino site do tend to be open 24 hours a day, and those in a land-based casino tend to only be open and available during the busier times of the day and night.

So, to be guaranteed of being able to play card and table games no matter when you get the urge to play, you are much more likely to find open tables at an online live casino site.

Live and Land Based Casino Comps and Promotional Offers

When you play casino table and card games in most land-based casinos, the most you can hope for by way of promotional offers are the comps you earn based on your level of real money gaming action at those tables.

However, when playing at an online live casino site not only are you going to be earning comp points as you play, you are also going to find plenty of additional promotional offers flowing your way at most casino sites too.

Therefore if you want, and every player should want, to lock in the absolute maximum value when playing casino card and table games it really is going to be worth your time and effort hunting around for those casino sites that offer not only high valued sign up welcome bonuses but also have plenty of ongoing bonuses up for grabs to players too.

Land Based and Live Casino Game Stakes and House Edges

As mentioned above, you are going to find low to high stable stake limits in place on the gaming tables at both online live casino sites and land based casinos too, so you should always be able to find a game to play at a table offering you stake levels you can afford to play for.

However, one of the main advantages of gambling at an online casino site that offers live table and card games, is that the house edges on the variants on offer do tend to be lower than those offered by most land-based casinos.

Often in those latter casino venues you are only going to find games such as American Roulette which as you will probably already know comes with a house edge of some 5.26%, however online casinos will give you access to the single zero European Roulette game, which has a much lower and much more appealing house edge of 2.70%.

The house edges on online live dealer Blackjack games also tend to be much lower too, for you will find a winning players Blackjack hand at those sites still get paid out at odds of 3 to 2 as opposed to the now commonly found lower payout land based casinos offer on those winning players hand, that being just 6/5.
