liberty-flames21Liberty will enter its upcoming matchup at Monmouth this weekend ranked No. 22 in both national FCS polls. Following the Flames’ Big South opening setback at Gardner-Webb, last Saturday, Liberty fell to No. 22 in both the FCS Coaches and STATS FCS Top 25 polls.

The Flames (3-3, 0-1 BSC) have been ranked inside the top 25 each week of the 2015 regular season. The streak is Liberty’s longest run in the national polls since the Flames were ranked each week of the entire 2010 season.

Liberty is one of three Big South teams in this week’s national polls. Coastal Carolina (6-0, 1-0 BSC) remains ranked No. 1 in the FCS Coaches poll, while the Chanticleers fell to No. 3 in the most recent STATS FCS Top 25 poll.

Charleston Southern (4-1, 1-0 BSC) has won its last three games in a row and is ranked No. 23 in the FCS Coaches poll. The Buccaneers have outscored their opponents, 117-34, during their three-game win streak.

Jacksonville State remains the No. 1 ranked team in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll, followed by North Dakota State, Coastal Carolina, Illinois State and James Madison.

The Flames conclude their four-game road swing this Saturday when Liberty travels to West Long Branch, N.J., to face Monmouth. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN3.
