Kristine Young, PA-C, a board-certified physician assistant, has joined the Augusta Health Primary Care office in Fishersville. The practice is located at 53 South Medical Park Drive, across Goose Creek Road from the main Augusta Health campus. The office phone number is 540.332.5687.
After graduating from Western Washington University and East Carolina University, Ms. Young received her Master of Science in Health Sciences from Duke University. She has practiced in North Carolina, Georgia and the state of Washington. Ms. Young is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is board-certified by NCCPA. Her professional interests include preventive health and women’s health.
“The best part of my job is getting to know all of my patients and working with them to improve their health,” says Young. “I am, at heart, an educator, and enjoy explaining how illnesses affect us and the different treatment options available. I believe in providing an atmosphere of trust, respect and communication so everyone feels taken care of at each visit.”
Ms. Young has volunteered with hospices and community shelters, and has traveled to Bolivia on a mission trip. She has relocated to the Valley from Washington state with her husband, Jonathan, and two dogs, Zizu and Pete. She enjoys hiking, travel, cooking, gardening and pottery—and is looking forward to learning the art of fly fishing.
