JMU football announces starting times, TV games

The James Madison University football home schedule will include one noon start, three late-afternoon starts, and one evening start, the school’s athletics department announced today.

Several of the starting times have been set for television with five JMU games – two home and three away – scheduled to be televised through arrangements with the Colonial Athletic Association.

JMU will open home play Sept. 19 in a 6 p.m. non-league game with Virginia Military Institute and will play the remainder of its home schedule against Colonial Athletic Association foes. The Dukes will host Richmond at noon Oct. 10, Villanova at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17, Maine at 3 p.m. Nov. 7, and Towson at 3 p.m. Nov. 21.

JMU’s Oct. 10 game with Richmond will be a part of the university’s Family Weekend, and the Oct. 17 game with Villanova will be a part of JMU’s Homecoming Weekend.

JMU games scheduled for television during the 2009 season include conference meetings with Richmond (Oct. 10), Villanova (Oct. 17), at William & Mary (Oct. 24), at Delaware (Oct. 31) and at Massachusetts (Nov. 14).

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic will televise the Richmond and William & Mary games. The Comcast Network (formerly CN8) will televise JMU’s games with Villanova, Delaware and Massachusetts.

JMU will open the 2009 season Sept. 12 at Maryland and will be meeting an Atlantic Coast Conference team to start the year for the third consecutive season. Virginia Military and Liberty, which JMU will visit Sept. 26, are the Dukes’ other non-conference foes. JMU will play eight CAA opponents.
