Jim Ross wrote today on his blog that he has not been in contact with CM Punk, who Ross helped bring to WWE back in his talent-relations days in the WWE office.
“I’ve not reached (out) to one of my all time favorite wrestlers out in respect for his privacy,” Ross blogged.
JR advised fans not to overanalyze the situation.
“Punk’s burned out, he’s worn out and he’s not likely to return anytime soon,” wrote Ross, who added that he’d be remiss that Punk is “done with the business for good.”
The absence of Punk opens up a spot at the top of the ladder in WWE that Ross said will be interesting to see who takes the initiative to fill.
“Who’s got the courage and confidence to demand that prime, TV time and spotlight? This matter has much more to do with individual talent’s attitude than one might think. The WWE can’t simply wave a magic wand and create a star.”
