Jennifer LewisAfter additional communications with debate organizers, the Jennifer Lewis congressional campaign has confirmed the Democratic nominee’s attendance at three candidate debates/forums in Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District.

As previously reported, Lewis will attend the RISE Waynesboro debate on September 21 and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance forum on October 22.

Today, the campaign further confirms Jennifer’s attendance at the Spotswood High School forum in Rockingham County on September 17. The time has yet to be set.

Over the past week, the Lewis campaign reached out to the organizations proposing non-partisan debates and forums: Washington & Lee, JMU, the Lynchburg League of Women Voters, and Spotswood High School.

“We tried to make a good faith effort to consider every proposed debate, regardless of the organization,” said Lewis campaign manager Josh Stanfield. “Now that we’ve accepted two of Delegate Cline’s three hand-picked debates, we hope he’ll agree to address the concerns of communities of color by attending the RISE event in Waynesboro.”
