Interstate 81 northbound lane closures in Shenandoah County

i81-headerOvernight lane and ramp closures are scheduled for northbound Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County from Oct. 4-7. These closures are for paving and guardrail work at various locations between mile markers 272 and 274.5 in the Mount Jackson area.

The closures will take place on the following schedule, weather permitting:

  • Sunday, October 4, from 8 p.m. until 9 a.m. Monday: Right lane closed between mile marker 272 and 274. Off-ramp closure at exit 273 (Mount Jackson/Basye). Drivers needing to access this exit will detour to Exit 277 (Bowman’s Crossing) and Route 11 (Old Valley Pike).
  • Monday, October 5, from 7 p.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday: Right lane closed between mile marker 272.5 and 274.5. On-ramp closure at exit 273 (Mount Jackson/Basye). Drivers needing to access northbound I-81 will detour to Route 11 (Old Valley Pike) and rejoin the interstate at Exit 277 (Bowman’s Crossing).
  • Tuesday, October 6, from 7 p.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday: Left lane closed from mile marker 272.5 to 274.5.
