The Virginia Department of Transportation will have an overnight lane closure May 7-8 along eastbound Interstate 64 between mile markers 89 and 91 in Augusta County.
On the night of Wednesday, May 7 the eastbound right lane will close at 7 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 8. This will allow crews to mark pavement and install a concrete barrier.
All work is weather permitting, and is part of the reconstruction of Route 285 (Tinkling Spring Road) at exit 91 in Fishersville. The two-year project will improve safety and traffic flow along Route 285 in Augusta County.
The Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded Shirley Contracting a $21 million design-build contract in September 2012. Final completion of the project is scheduled for August 2015.
