Highland Second Wind Program Taking Flight!

secondwindlogoThe blue kite logo for Second Wind programs is taking flight. “We’re very inspired by the enthusiasm and support we have received from the community since the announcement of this new concept of senior programs and activities,” said Kathy Solomon, Director of Community Programs for Valley Program for Aging Services in Highland County.

The vision of a “center without walls” is to provide social, recreational, and educational programs at a variety of locations around Highland County. By partnering with the Ruritans, Highland Public Library, Highland Medical Center, some of the local churches, and others for use of their facilities, residents will be able to attend Second Wind events convenient to where they live.

The Calendar of Events for 2013 will offer opportunities for physical exercise, arts and crafts, and lifelong learning programs. Locations for these activities will be at Bolar, Monterey, and McDowell and the same fee policy will apply.

Registration is required; please call Kathy Solomon at 540 468-3001.
