Help United Way stuff the bus, help local schoolchildren

united wayThe local community can help provide school supplies for Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County students during the weekend of August 7-9 for the annual Stuff the Bus at the Staunton and Waynesboro Wal-Marts.

Volunteers will be collecting supplies from 9 am- 7 pm Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am-6 pm.

During Virginia’s Tax Free back to school weekend, volunteers will be collecting donated school supplies and backpacks that help working families to send children back to school with all of the supplies they need to have a successful year.

Donations can be dropped off all weekend long August 7-9 at the Staunton or Waynesboro Wal-Marts, or beforehand at ntelos Wireless locations in Staunton, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg, and Woodstock and Valley Auto Group in Staunton.

In addition to donations, United Way of Greater Augusta is still in need of volunteers to help us collect, pack and deliver school supplies throughout the weekend.

Visit the Greater Augusta Volunteer Center website at www.volunteergreateraugusta.org for opportunities to volunteer for Stuff the Bus.
