habitat for humanityStaunton Augusta Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring the seventh Community Health Fair on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at Booker T. Washington Community Center, 1114 W. Johnson St., Staunton.

The event provides an opportunity for neighbors and friends to enjoy health screenings, public information booths, printed photographs and handmade frames for children, arts and crafts for children, a children’s book reading, a children’s puppet show, wrapped gifts for children, a Christmas sing-along, recorded holiday music, and a free spaghetti dinner.

It is all made possible by partners including the Department of Parks and Recreation for the City of Staunton, Augusta Health, Staunton Police Department, All Girls’ Conference, First Baptist Church, Love, Inc., Comfort Care, Valley Community Services Board, United States Marines’ Toys for Tots, Kohl’s Cares, Staunton Public Library, Staunton Wal Mart, author Makeba Robinson, and music man Alfred Scott.

This will be the seventh such event organized by The Seed, local active community civic group, led by Cliff Jones, Willie Jones, Smoogie Bell, and Sonja Hackett, all residents of Staunton.  It is open to the public and free of charge.  Donations can be made until Saturday, 12:00 noon, and SAW Habitat for Humanity invites you to call its local affiliate for more information (540) 886-1944.  Together we build.
