Group honors school, community counselors

The Central Valley Counselors Association recently held its Annual Recognition/Awards Breakfast,  where area school and community counselors gathered to celebrate the many accomplishments of the organization and its members.

Honored were Michele Kielty Briggs, Administrative/Counselor Educator Support Member; Russ Ingersoll, Community Counselor of the Year; Candi Kincaid, School Counselor of the Year; Tom Luikart, Student Member; Jenn Kurbel, Emerging Leader; Lisa Ellison, Support Member Award; and Jodi Myers, Chapter Member of the Year.

John Savides, Counselor from Recovery Choice at AHC, presented a brief program on Bath Salts, K-2, and other designer drugs found in the area.  Counselors shared information regarding new drugs of abuse, including teen drinking hand sanitizer and distilling hand sanitizer for its alcohol content.
