A $3,000 grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts will help the show go on at “The River City Radio Hour.”

The grant announcement was made June 20. The commission praised director Clair Myers, also the executive director of the Wayne Theatre Alliance, for the “Radio Hour”‘s use of professional playwrights to write the monthly shows and its value as an economic tool to drive patrons to venues in Downtown Waynesboro.

“I’m thrilled that we have received this grant,” Myers said. “‘The River City Radio Hour’ has the potential to become a regional attraction. With the support of the Commission, we can continue the development of the ‘Radio Hour’ and increase its reach.”

The next installment of “The River City Radio Hour” is set for Friday, July 18, at Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship, 329 W. Main St., at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
