adam sharpShenandoah County Clerk of the Circuit Court candidate Adam Sharp today received the endorsement of Governor Terry McAuliffe. Sharp, a key account manager at Andros Foods in Mount Jackson, is running for the open position vacated by the retirement of Denise B. Estep.

“Since I took office last year, Virginians have seen how strong, energetic leadership improves their lives,” said McAuliffe. “Adam will modernize and improve the Clerk’s office to focus on the most important thing: serving the people. We need his energy and vision.”

McAuliffe, the 72nd governor of Virginia, won election in 2013. He has secured several large economic development deals, bringing thousands of jobs to Virginia. McAuliffe has also restored voting and civil rights to over ten thousand individuals and pushed for expanding Medicaid coverage for hundreds of thousands of Virginians, keeping taxpayer funds in Virginia.

Sharp will make several needed improvements to the clerk of the court’s office, including online access to services, expediting background checks for local organizations, and providing bulk court data so the effectiveness and priorities of the court system can be analyzed.

“I am honored to receive Governor McAuliffe’s endorsement,” said Sharp. “I am running to build a 21st century Clerk’s office that restores the public’s trust and treats every citizen respectfully and fairly.

“Governor McAuliffe is leading the way by demonstrating how Virginia can have a well-run and effective government, not just a dull bureaucracy. I will extend those efforts into the local clerk of the court office, and will be a force for progress in Shenandoah County.”
