Glenn Brammer, MD, a board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist, has joined the Augusta Health Cardiology office in Fishersville.  The practice is located in the Heart and Vascular Center on the Augusta Health campus.  The office phone number is 540.332.4278.

Dr. Brammer earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia.  He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia and fellowships in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  Dr. Brammer is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology.  His professional interest and area of expertise is electrophysiology, which studies the electrical activity and pathways of the heart, determines the cause of abnormal heart rhythms, and determines the best treatment for the abnormal rhythm.

Previously, Dr. Brammer has been an assistant professor and practicing faculty in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

“I’m very excited to join the team here at Augusta Health,” said Dr. Brammer.  “It is a wonderful hospital and great environment.  Bringing my experience in electrophysiology to Augusta County is an honor for me and my family.  We are setting up an arrhythmia center for patients in our area to come and experience the latest and most advanced therapies for heart rhythm disorders.  This includes ablation for atrial fibrillation, pacemakers, defibrillators for prevention of sudden cardiac death and resynchronization devices for treatment of congestive heart failure.”

In his free time, Dr. Brammer enjoys hiking, biking and running.  He has relocated to Fishersville with his wife and three sons.
