The first two games of the 2013 UVa. football season will be broadcast and the game times are now set for those contests.
The Cavaliers’ home opener at Scott Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 31 against BYU will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. EST and be televised by ESPNU. UVa’s home game on Saturday, Sept. 7 versus Oregon is also slated for 3:30 p.m. EST and will be televised by ABC Sports regionally and by ESPN2 to the rest of the nation outside the ABC regional footprint.
Including required holds for student tickets, approximately 46,500 tickets have been sold for the 2013 home opener against BYU, and approximately 48,600 tickets have been sold for the game against Oregon. Scott Stadium’s capacity is 61,500. As of this date five years ago, approximately 55,000 tickets had been sold for the opening game of the 2008 season against USC. That game against the Trojans sold out on July 25, 2008, and drew a record crowd of 64,947 at Scott Stadium.
“The response from our fans in the first 10 days of the single-game ticket sale for the BYU and Oregon games has been strong,” said Todd Goodale, Virginia associate director of athletics for marketing and video services. “Now that the kickoff times have been announced, we expect interest to remain high and to sell out the BYU and Oregon games through a combination of season tickets, mini-packages, and single game tickets. Fans should purchase their tickets now to secure the best possible seating locations.”
Virginia vs. BYU and Oregon Single Game Tickets
Single-game tickets for the game against BYU are available at five price levels ranging from $24-$48. Tickets for the game against Oregon are $65 each in the lower and upper levels of Scott Stadium.
Single-game tickets for UVa’s home games against VMI (Sept. 21), Ball State (Oct. 5), Duke (Oct. 19), Georgia Tech (Oct. 26), Clemson (Nov. 2) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 30) will go on sale to the public on Friday, July 19.
Mini-Packages and Season Tickets
The three-game Kickoff Package includes Virginia’s home games against BYU, Oregon and the Homecomings contest against Georgia Tech. The Kickoff Package is offered for a limited time until Monday, May 27 at three price levels: $110, $135 and $150. These prices represent a savings of $9-$12 off the single-game ticket price for each package.
The four-game Wahoo Package features UVa’s home games against BYU, VMI, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The four-game Cavalier Package includes Virginia’s home games against Oregon, Ball State, Duke and Clemson.
The Wahoo Package and Cavalier Package are also offered at three price levels: $125, $160 and $180, a savings of $18-$21 off the single-game ticket price for each package.
Season tickets remain on sale at five price levels from $176-$345 and a three-month, interest-free payment plan option is available. Season tickets and mini-packages offer preferred seat locations in each price level.
Fans may purchase tickets online and by using their mobile device at VirginiaSports.com/tickets or by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434-924-8821 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Season tickets, mini-ticket packages and single-game tickets can also be ordered in person by visiting the Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The ACC released game times and television network assignments for all home league games through the first three weeks of the season. UVa has the first of its two byes during week three (Sept. 14).
After the first three weeks of the season, game times and TV network selections will be announced weekly with the ACC’s television partners making their choices utilizing a 12-day advance notice beginning Monday, Sept. 9 (for games onSaturday, Sept. 21). ACC television partners also reserve the right to use a six-day selection notice on a limited basis during the season.
