Free event features JMU men’s, women’s basketball

jmu logoJMU women’s basketball coach Kenny Brooks and men’s coach Matt Brady are facing off in a preseason basketball event.  The TeamMatt vs. TeamKenny Showdown, set for Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in the JMU Convocation Center, will feature two mixed squads of men’s and women’s players, with one squad coached by Brooks and the other coached by Brady.

The teams will face off in a number of challenges throughout the night.  The doors open for this free event at 6:30 p.m. with team introductions starting at 7 p.m.  After both TeamKenny and TeamMatt are introduced they will face off in a skills challenge, a shootout challenge and a tricycle challenge.  Each competition will feature not only men’s and women’s basketball players but also JMU students.

Fans will be seated on either the TeamMatt or TeamKenny side of the arena.  Fans seated on the winning side will receive a prize.  The teams were selected via a draft on Monday, October 6.  Coach Brooks and Coach Brady alternated picks and selections were released as they filled their rosters.
