Forum on Staunton elections set for tonight

The first of two scheduled public forums on a move under consideration in Staunton to change the schedule for local elections is set for tonight.
The forum will be held in the cafeteria at R.E. Lee High School at 7 p.m.
Staunton City Council is considering a proposal to move city elections from May in odd-numbered years to either November in odd-numbered years to coincide with state elections or November in even-numbered years to coincide with federal elections.
A second forum is set for Oct. 22 at Shelburne Middle School – and a third may be scheduled for a later date.
