Brian D. Rose, 41, of Waynesboro, turned himself in to the Virginia State Police Thursday to be served with three felony counts of obtaining money by false pretenses.
VSP Special Agent Accountant C.F. Myers initiated the investigation in November 2010 at the request of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. State police were asked to investigate discrepancies in Rose’s time and attendance records while employed by the sheriff’s office.
Waynesboro Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Ajemian, who was appointed as special prosecutor for the case, assisted with the investigation.
Rose was released on a $5,000 bond.
