Forbes visits NASA Langley, founds bipartisan NASA caucus

randy forbesCongressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) announced the launch of the brand new Congressional NASA Caucus, following a visit to NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia where he toured the facility and met with NASA leaders.

“I am excited by the cutting-edge work that NASA is doing, and proud that so much of it is happening right here in Virginia,” Congressman Forbes said. “NASA is poised to make exciting new breakthroughs and reach new horizons in the years ahead: journeying to Mars, flying at supersonic and hypersonic speeds, integrating unmanned vehicles into everyday life, and developing new technologies that will change the game for the aviation industry, and Congress needs to support its efforts. The bipartisan Congressional NASA Caucus I am establishing will work to enhance the understanding of Members of Congress about the important work being done at places like NASA Langley, and speak directly to the public about the great work NASA does around the country.”

Congressman Forbes’ tour of the Langley Research Center included a visit to the facility’s unmanned aerial systems, flight demonstration vehicles, and hypersonic research lab. Congressman Forbes visited NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on the Eastern Shore of Virginia last month.
