Fly Lady: Paying it forward this holiday season

At this time of year we start thinking about the things we are grateful for. I am thankful for a roof over my head. It hasn’t been that long ago that I was practically living out of my car. This year I have been working with Habitat for Humanity. We worked on a Women Build Project in Asheville and I have been getting my FlyLady members to donate their abundance to a Habitat Restore in their area.

Clutter has been standing in the way of peace. As we bless others with the abundance of stuff in our houses; we find our homes easier to keep clean. The peace is contagious in every area of our life.

Many years ago I watch a movie called Pay It Forward. Every holiday season we practice blessing others with simple acts of kindness. This year I have decided that we can raise the money to build a Habitat for Humanity Home. We have over one million members and all it takes is $111,000 to build a house in my little county of Transylvania County, North Carolina.

I know we can do this. I have set a date of my birthday on January 11th as my goal. This is going to be so great!

The wonderful folks at Habitat have built a donation widget for me. The only other person to have this tool is President Carter. I feel so honored to be a part of this wonderful organization. I know that this home will be the first of many.

Please become part of our team. You can help by donating just a little. There is a link to the donation widget on my website. Let’s build a house for a deserving person. Help us give a hand up, not a hand out, to families in need. We are so excited about this! Every little bit helps!
