Spring will have sprung Tuesday, but Old Man Winter isn’t going away quietly. The National Weather Service has the Central Shenandoah Valley under a Winter Weather Advisory Tuesday night into Wednesday, with a forecast of 5+ inches of snow possible.
It would be the biggest snow event of the winter of 2018 in the Waynesboro-Augusta County area, if it were winter.
The weather is likely to start as rain, then become freezing rain during the day on Tuesday, leaving a coating of ice of up to an inch, before turning to snow late Tuesday.
Precipitation is possible throughout the day on Wednesday.
