Ellen Arthur, the Democratic Party nominee for the House of Delegates seat in the 24th District, announced that she is ready and willing to schedule a date to debate her opponent, Republican Del. Ben Cline.
While these are not formally scheduled as debates, she will be appearing at the following events:
- A Meet and Greet hosted by the Amherst County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, September 22 at Amherst County High School at 6:30 pm.
- A Legislative Dinner hosted by the Augusta Nurses’ Association at Augusta Health on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:00 pm.
- A Candidate’s Forum hosted by the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, October 21 at Hampton Inn Col Alto at 5:30 pm.
“I look forward to a debate that is scheduled as such, and sponsored by a politically neutral host. We are actively seeking invitations in the 24th District for a true debate with my opponent,” said Arthur, a retired attorney who has practiced in Lexington for 37 years.
