Augusta Health Care for Women is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Thompson, MD FACOG FACS to their healthcare team. Dr. Thompson will be providing full scope Obstetrical and Gynecological care at both their Fishersville and Lexington locations.
Dr. Thompson is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been in practice since 1988. His special interest include: High Risk Pregnancy, First trimester Screening, Obstetrical Ultrasound and Gynecologic Surgery.
Dr. Thompson holds a Fetal Medicine Foundation certificate for nuchal translucency measurement, nasal bone assessment, frontmaxillary facial angle measurement and assessment of tricuspid flow and uterine artery pulsatility index assessment. He also is NTQR certified for nuchal translucency and nasal bone assessment.
He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, International Society for Prenatal Diagnosis, American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Thompson and his wife reside in Augusta County and have three grown children.
