detox treatmentWhen someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol it can have devastating effects on every part of their life. Thankfully, in today’s society, we have numerous treatment options to help people suffering from addiction. Whether someone is turning to help early on in their struggle with substance abuse or if they are trying to kick a problem that they’ve fought for decades, there is a treatment designed to help. Treatment options exist for people of any age and any budget. Never let cost be a deterring factor when considering treatment. If you aren’t sure where to go for help, American Addiction Centers offers a free 24/7 helpline that is available for people who are looking for treatment for a loved one or for themselves.

Inpatient Treatment

When someone chooses inpatient treatment they are choosing to stay in a facility during the detox and withdrawal phases of treatment. Oftentimes, inpatient detox centers are staffed by medical personnel, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, therapists and counselors who are available to help with withdrawal symptoms and any complications that may arise. Inpatient treatment offers a controlled environment that is designed for the greatest care and attention during withdrawal. While very effective, inpatient treatment is also the most costly option. Costs can range anywhere from $6,000 to $20,000 for a 30-day program and $12,000 to $60,000 for a 60-90 day program.

Outpatient Treatment

With outpatient treatment, patients visit the treatment facility during the day for care and assistance but return to their homes at night. Outpatient detox can be the right choice if the patient has a strong support network at home that will help with a safe environment, physical and emotional care and transportation. If these things are not available, inpatient care may be a better choice for success. Outpatient care costs are less than inpatient and can vary depending on how often the patient visits the clinic and how extensive the treatment is. Generally, a 90-day program costs anywhere from $4,000 – $10,000.

Rehabilitation Programs

Drug rehab programs can last anywhere from a few weeks to several months. These programs are usually used following more intensive inpatient or outpatient substance abuse treatment. While in rehab patients undergo individual and group counseling to assist with their continued sobriety efforts. Peer support has shown to be a great strength for patients in the recovery process. Completing rehabilitation programs following drug treatment greatly increases a person’s chance for continued sobriety. These types of programs are worth the cost as long as the patient stays committed and involved. Costs for rehab programs vary greatly, and some are available at no cost to the patient.

Support Groups

Support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and other variations specific for other substances can give recovering addicts a consistent place to go for support. Support groups are usually low- or no-cost options for recovering addicts who are looking for budget-friendly resources. A quick internet search can give a long list of local groups as well as online groups that are available every day of the week and at varying times.

Drug addiction comes with a heavy emotional and physical burden. Everyone deserves the help they need to rid themselves of the chains that come from substance abuse. Money should not be the reason that someone doesn’t reach out for help. There are wonderful treatment options available for a wide range of prices, from free to the tens of thousands. That means there is a treatment option for everyone. Whether someone chooses an inpatient, outpatient or rehabilitation program, sobriety is possible. Patients will need support and patience as they travel this difficult road. In addition to family and friends, the right treatment program is key.
