Details on new Augusta Health Outpatient Centers
The new Augusta Health Outpatient Center in Waynesboro is slated to open in October. A $2.1 million renovation project is ongoing to transform the former Berrang car dealership property on Lew Dewitt Boulevard into an outpatient medical facility that will become the new home to the primary care office of Dr. Kimberly Cheek and Dr. Barbara Fenton, who currently have a practice on Jefferson Highway in Waynesboro.
In addition, the 20,000-square-foot building will house laboratory and urgent care services open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
“The purpose of the Outpatient Center in Waynesboro is to fulfill our mission to serve our community through access to excellent care,” said Augusta Health spokesman Lisa Schwenk, noting that the urgent care facility on Statler Boulevard in Staunton records more than 25,000 patient visits per year, demonstrating the preference for urgent care facilities in the local market.
