Del. Sam Rasoul leads Friday #RealRoanoke rally

Rasoul HeadshotDel. Sam Rasoul has organized an Anti-Terrorism/Pro-Humanity Rally to show the world the #RealRoanoke. The rally seeks to show Roanoke in a positive light and will feature activities, speakers, and a food and clothing drive to help those in need.

  • WHO: The Office of Delegate Sam Rasoul, Roanoke NAACP, Roanoke City Councilman Bill Bestpitch, Roanoke City Chief of Police Chris Perkins, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, and concerned citizens of the Roanoke area
  • WHAT: An event to rally around our love for Roanoke, our people, and our values.  Donations of winter clothes, socks, underwear, and canned food will be donated to Commonwealth Catholic Charities, an organization that helps refugees, immigrants, and other residents of the Roanoke region
  • WHERE: Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke, 2015 Grandin Road SW Roanoke, VA 24015
  • WHEN: Friday, November 20, 2015 at 7 pm
  • WHY: To show that the #RealRoanoke is a welcoming, inclusive community that appreciates and embraces its multiculturalism and to facilitate positive interactions and conversations among its citizens
