sam rasoulDel. Sam Rasoul (D-Roanoke) joins other legislators in the General Assembly to found the Transparency Caucus.

This caucus is dedicated to making the General Assembly and its proceedings more accessible to the public.

Rasoul said, “People want to know what’s happening during the legislative session.  We are in Richmond for a short time and not everyone can physically come here and sit in on committee hearings. We need to work harder to make sure that citizens have easy access to information about bills that are important to them and that will ultimately affect their lives.”

The caucus was announced by freshman legislators Delegate Mark Levine (D-Alexandria) and Senator Amanda Chase (R-Midlothian).
