Today the Deeds campaign released a new ad calling on Bob McDonnell to “knock off the lies.” The ad, “Hurt,” features workers telling Bob McDonnell to stop the lies about Deeds’ position on cap-and-trade, because they know they can trust Deeds’ to fight to protect their jobs.

The ad responds to Bob McDonnell’s false claims about Deeds’ position on cap-and-trade.

“Shame on you for trying to scare us about losing our jobs,” Joe Wood, a worker at MeadWestvaco in Covington tells McDonnell in the ad.

Sen. Deeds has stated in debates and interviews that he opposes the cap-and-trade legislation. Deeds has a strong record of job creation, and even wrote the modern-day Governor’s Opportunity Fund which has saved or created 80,000 jobs in Virginia.

“Hurt” will be aired in television markets in Southwest Virginia and Harrisonburg.
