‘Deeds Country’ Tour to kick off on Sunday

Sen. Creigh Deeds, the Democratic nominee for governor, will kick off his “Deeds Country” Tour on Sunday, Aug. 2, in Charlottesville . Deeds’ weeklong tour will take him to more than 20 cities and towns in Southwest and Southside Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

During the 4 p.m. rally on the Downtown Mall, Sen. Deeds will discuss his comprehensive plan to jump start the economy and leave no community behind.

Sen. Deeds will be joined at the kick off by Del. David Toscano, Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris, Charlottesville Vice-Mayor Julian Taliaferro, Albemarle Chair of the Board of Supervisors David Slutzky, Charlottesville Sheriff Cornelia Johnson and other community leaders.

During the “Deeds Country” Tour, Sen. Deeds will meet with citizens and discuss his plans to keep rural Virginia moving forward. Through his proposed tax cuts and investments in education and new technology, Senator Deeds plans to jump start the economy to ensure that all Virginians are given the opportunity to succeed.

“Creigh grew up in Bath County and knows this part of the state, its people and its values,” said Joe Abbey, Deeds’ campaign manager . “He is looking forward to meeting with Virginians throughout the week and talking about his plan to create and save jobs in a region hit hard by eight years of disastrous Bush economic policies.”
