Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: Week of April 9-13

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Sign installation between mile marker 118 and 122. Be alert for workers near travel lanes, expect delays. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Vegetation control between mile marker 100 and 124. Mobile lane closures, expect delays. Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 603 (Plunkett Road) – Replacing bridge over the Lynch River. Road closed to through traffic. Use alternate routes. Anticipated completion April 2018.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

Culpeper County

(NEW) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Paving operations between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) – Paving operations between Route 609 (Hoover Road) and Route 667 (Braggs Corner Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(NEW) Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Paving operations between Route 616 (Woodland Church Road) and the Rappahannock County Line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 647 (Twin Mountains Road) – Paving of a gravel road between Route 655 (Somerville Road) and Route 736 (Willis Ford Road). Expect intermittent lane closures.

Fauquier County

Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of traffic detection technology northbound between Route 1150 (Avenel Road) and Route 800 (Old Culpeper Road). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (Eastern Bypass) – Brush removal between Business Route 17 (James Madison Highway) and Business Route 15 (James Madison Highway). Expect intermittent lane closures Thursday from 9 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 17 (James Madison Highway) – Sign installation between Route 628 (Moffet Drive) and Route 628 (Keith Road). Be alert for workers near travel lanes, expect delays. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 17 (James Madison Highway) – Tree removal between Route 699 (Merry Oaks Road) and Business Route 17 (Broadview Avenue). Be alert for workers near travel lanes, expect delays. Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Eastbound guardrail repairs between mile marker 29 and mile marker 34. Be aware of workers along shoulders and near roadway, obey traffic controls. Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Use caution when traveling through work zone, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 725 (Tuckers Lane) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 725. Expect intermittent flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Use caution approaching work zone and obey traffic controls.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. Expect flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Obey traffic controls.

Route 837 (Old Marsh Road) – Pipe replacement just west of Route 674 (Green Road). Road closed to through traffic April 3-17. Route 837 can be accessed from Route 17 (Marsh Road) during the closure.

Fluvanna County

(UPDATE) Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Paving operations between the Albemarle County line and Route 600 (Paynes Mill Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 623 (Perkins Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Venable Creek near Route 659 (Kent Store Way). Road closed to through traffic, use alternate routes. Anticipated completion in mid-April.

Greene County

(NEW) Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) – Westbound guardrail repairs between Route 625 (Goose Pond Road) and the Rockingham County Line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging, obey traffic controls. Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Louisa County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Sign installation eastbound between mile marker 135 and mile marker 137. Be alert for workers near travel lanes, expect delays. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Sign installation westbound between mile marker 139 and mile marker 137. Be alert for workers near travel lanes, expect delays. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 250 (Three Notch Road) – Paving operations between Route 659 (Courthouse Road) and the Goochland County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Paving operations between Route 33 (Jefferson Highway) and Route 663 (Owens Creek Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Madison County

(NEW) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Pipe installation between Route 626 (Gibbs Road) and Route 662 (Shelby Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Traffic detection technology repairs between Route 662 (Shelby Road) and Route 621 (Jacks Shop Road/Seville Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 675 (Fletcher Road) – Roadway improvements from Route 667 Middle River Road) to the Green County line. Be aware of workers in roadway, obey traffic controls. Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rappahannock County

(NEW) Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Paving operations between Route 650 (Obannons Mill Road) and the Culpeper County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
