Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: May 21-25

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Vegetation control operations in both directions between mile markers 99 and 148. Alternating lane closures, Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Mowing operations in both directions between mile markers 100 and 124. Stay alert for workers near the travel lanes Wednesday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Bridge work westbound between mile markers 121 and 120. Right lane closed Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs at mile marker 125. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Installation of signs westbound between mile markers 126 and 124. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 20 (Stony Point Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 621 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 612 (Hammocks Gap Road). Expect lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

(NEW) Route 20 (Scottsville Road) – Bridge work over Hardware River. Route 627 (Carters Mountain Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

(NEW) Route 690 (Greenwood Station Road) – Bridge work over Interstate 64. Obey traffic controls Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

(NEW) Route 708 (Red Hill Road) – Bridge work over North Fork Hardware River. Obey traffic controls Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

(NEW) Route 712 (North Garden Lane) – Bridge deck replacement. Road closed to through traffic Monday through Friday. Use alternate routes.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

Various Routes – Bridge deck cleaning on primary and secondary routes. Expect brief, mobile lane closures Monday through Friday. Obey traffic controls.

Culpeper County

Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Paving operations between Route 616 (Woodland Church Road and the Rappahannock County line. Obey traffic controls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Various Routes – Bridge deck cleaning on primary and secondary routes. Expect brief, mobile lane closures Monday through Friday. Obey traffic controls.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane). Expect brief, mobile lane closures Monday through Friday.

Interstate 66 – Vegetation control operations in both directions between mile markers 14 to mile marker 37. Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Survey and other preliminary design work for the Warrenton Southern Interchange project at Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Drive). Expect intermittent lane closures between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Use caution when traveling through work zone, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Use caution approaching work zone and obey traffic controls.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. Expect flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Obey traffic controls.

Route 33 (Spotswood Trail) – Installation of guardrail between Route 625 (Goose Pond Road) and the Rockingham County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 629 (Orange Springs Road) – Tree trimming between Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway) and Route 707 (Poplar Road). Expect lane closures Monday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rappahannock County

Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Resurfacing operations between Route 650 (Obannons Mill Road) and the Culpeper County line. Obey traffic controls, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
