Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: March 12-16

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones.

Albemarle County

Route 603 (Plunkett Road) – Replacing bridge over the Lynch River. Road closed to through traffic. Use alternate routes. Anticipated completion April 2018.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 601 (Old Garth Road) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

(UPDATE) Route 747 (Preddy Creek Road) – Pipe replacement between Route 600 (Watts Passage) and Route 640 (Gilbert Station Road). Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., expect lane closures controlled by flagging. Obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Various Routes – Debris removal at multiple locations. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging:

· Route 20 (Scottsville Road) from Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway) to Interstate 64. Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway) from Route 20 (Scottsville Road) to the Fluvanna County line. Monday and Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 612 (Hammocks Gap Road) from Route 20 (Stony Point Road) to the dead end. Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 631 (Rio Road) from Route 29 (Seminole Trail) to the Charlottesville city limits. Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Culpeper County

(NEW) Route 15 Business (Brandy Road) – Bridge deck repairs over Route 15 (James Madison Highway). Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., expect lane closures controlled by flagging.

(NEW) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Resurfacing operations from the Madison County line to Route 648 (Cedar Ridge Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday and Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 647 (Twin Mountains Road) – Paving of a gravel road between Route 655 (Somerville Road) and Route 736 (Willis Ford Road). Expect intermittent lane closures.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of traffic detection technology northbound between Route 1150 (Avenel Road) and Route 800 (Old Culpeper Road). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 50 (John S Mosby Highway) – Soil testing near bridge over Goose Creek. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., expect lane closures controlled by flagging.

(NEW) Route 610 (Midland Road) – Tree trimming operations between Route 817 (Old Windwright Lane) and Route 28 (Catlett Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Use caution when traveling through work zone, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 725 (Tuckers Lane) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 725. Expect intermittent flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Use caution approaching work zone and obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. Expect flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Route 780 (Cabin Branch Road) – Pipe replacement about one-half mile south of Route 737 (Conde Road). Road closed to through traffic March 12-26. Follow posted detour.

Fluvanna County

Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Paving operations between the Albemarle County line and Route 600 (Paynes Mill Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 623 (Perkins Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Venable Creek near Route 659 (Kent Store Way). Road closed to through traffic, use alternate routes. Anticipated completion in mid-March.

Louisa County

Route 250 (Three Notch Road) – Paving operations between Route 659 (Courthouse Road) and the Goochland County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Paving operations between Route 33 (Jefferson Highway) and Route 663 (Owens Creek Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Madison County

Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Traffic detection technology repairs between Route 662 (Shelby Road) and Route 621 (Jacks Shop Road/Seville Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

(NEW) Various Routes – Debris removal at multiple locations. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging:

· Route 231 (Blue Ridge Turnpike) from Route 673 (Cedar Hill Road) to the Rappahannock County line. Monday and Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 609 (West Hoover Road) from Route 231 (North Blue Ridge Turnpike) to the Culpeper County line. Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 634 (Old Park Road) from Route 29 (Seminole Trail) to Route 15 (James Madison Highway). Thursday and Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 643 (Etlan Road) from Route 670 (Old Blue Ridge Turnpike) to Route 231 (South Fort Valley Road). Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 644 (Emmett Road) from Route 643 (Etlan Road) to Route 646 (Champe Plain Road). Tuesday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 646 (Champe plain Road) from Route 231 (South Forth Valley Road) to Route 707 (Nethers Road). Wednesday and Thursday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

· Route 720 (Leathers Road) from Route 643 (Etlan Road) to the dead end. Monday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
