Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: July 30-Aug. 3

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

Interstate 64 – Westbound sign installation between mile marker 126 and 124. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Interstate 64 – Mowing operations eastbound and westbound between mile marker 99 and 148. Be alert for mobile work zones and equipment near the travel lanes Monday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(UPDATE) Interstate 64 – Line painting eastbound and westbound between mile marker 100 and 131. Expect mobile lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Obey traffic controls.

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Monticello Avenue) – Bridge repairs over Moores Creek near Interstate 64. Expect nightly lane closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

(NEW) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Tree trimming operations between Route 1571 (Lewis and Clark Drive) and Route 1515 (Rivers Edge Road). Expect delays Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Bridge repairs between Route 1438 (Hilton Heights Road) and Route 643 (Polo Ground Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (Monacan Trail) – Bridge repairs between Frontage Route 178 (Teel Lane) and Business Route 29 (Fontaine Avenue). Expect lane closures Thursday and Friday 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Tree trimming operations at crossover of (Rolkin Road). Expect delays Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 600 (Stony Point Pass) – Rehabilitating bridge over Flannigan Branch. Road closed to through traffic. Use alternate routes. Anticipated completion Aug. 10.

(NEW) Route 702 (Fontaine Avenue Ext.) – Repairs to the Route 29/250 Bypass bridge. Westbound shoulder closed, all eastbound lanes and shoulder closed between Buckingham Circle and Ray Hunt Drive, Thursday and Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastbound traffic will travel in one westbound lane. Slow down and follow directional signs through the work area under the bridge.

Route 810 (Blackwells Hollow Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Halls Creek. Road closed to through traffic June 11-Sept. 7. Use alternate routes.

Culpeper County

Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of raised pavement markers between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) – Installation of raised pavement markers between Route 609 (Hoover Road) and Route 718 (Mountain Run Lake Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (James Madison Highway) – Bridge repairs at Route 15 (Brandy Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway) – Bridge repairs over the Rapidan River. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 674 (Kellys Ford Road) – Installation of signs at Route 620 (Edwards Shop Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 685 (Auburn Road) – Installation of pipe between Route 665 (Inlet Road) and Route 663 (Alanthus Road). All lanes closed, use alternate routes Monday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane).

Expect eastbound lane closures during the following times:

· Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· Friday from 9 a.m. to noon

· 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday

· 9 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Line painting on ramps at exit 27 to Route 721 (Free State Road). Expect lane closures Tuesday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Line painting on ramps at exit 28 to Route 17 (Winchester Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 66 – Sign installation at several locations between mile markers 22 and 26, eastbound and westbound. Right shoulder closures during installation, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 17 (Winchester Road) – Bridge repairs over Interstate 66. Expect lane closures in both directions Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 17 (Winchester Road) – Milling and paving at Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday and Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(UPDATE) Route 17 (Winchester Road) – Line painting operations between Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) and Interstate 66. Expect lane closures Wednesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of signs near Route 643 (Meetze Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731 intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fluvanna County

(NEW) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Paving operations between Route 649 (Central Plains Road) and Route 655 (W Botto Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m

(NEW) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Milling operations between Route 649 (Central Plains Road) and Route 655 (W Botto Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m

Greene County

Route 631 (Haneytown Road) – Replacement of bridge over Haneytown Creek. Road closed to thru traffic at the bridge. Use alternate routes. Estimated completion in mid-Feb. 2019.

Louisa County

Interstate 64 – Bridge work underneath Route 615 (Zion Road) near mile marker 136. Expect lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Bridge painting between mile marker 145 and 144. Expect lane closures Monday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

(NEW) Route 250 (Three Notch Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 659 (Courthouse Road) and the Goochland Count line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 522 (Cross County Road) – Pavement marking and line painting between Route 663 (Owens Creek Road) and Route 33 (Jefferson Highway). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Madison County

(NEW) Route 230 (Wolftown-Hood Road) – Pipe replacement east of Wolftown on Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alternate lane closures with traffic controlled by flaggers. Expect minor delays.

Orange County

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Constitution Highway) – Milling and paving operations between Route 3 (Germanna Highway) and Route 729 (Tannery Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday and Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
