Culpeper District Traffic Alerts: April 16-20

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

Interstate 64 – Installation of signs between mile markers 118 and 122. Be alert for workers near travel lanes. Expect delays Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 603 (Plunkett Road) – Replacing bridge over the Lynch River. Road closed to through traffic. Use alternate routes. Anticipated completion April 2018.

(NEW) Route 606 (Spring Hill Road) – Pothole patching operations. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 630 (Green Creek Road) – Tree trimming between Route 717 (Secretarys Sand Road) and Route 6 (Irish Road). Obey traffic controls. Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

(NEW) Route 666 (Snowy Ridge Lane) – Pothole patching operations. Obey traffic controls Monday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 674 (Sugar Ridge Road) – Pothole patching between Route 614 (Sugar Hollow Road) and Route 671 (Millington Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Route 743 (Hydraulic Road) – Construction of sidewalk from Route 1315 (Commonwealth Drive) to Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion June 2018.

(NEW) Route 1541 (Willwood Road) – Pothole patching operations. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging, use caution when traveling through work zone. Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Culpeper County

(NEW) Route 3 (Germanna Highway) – Installation of rumble strips along the shoulders between Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway) and the Orange County line. Be alert for slow moving vehicles Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Paving operations between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 647 (Twin Mountains Road) – Paving of a gravel road between Route 655 (Somerville Road) and Route 736 (Willis Ford Road). Expect intermittent lane closures.

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 – Rehabilitating bridge over Route 725 (Tuckers Lane). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

(UPDATE) Interstate 66 – Eastbound guardrail repairs between mile marker 15 and mile marker 34. Be aware of workers along shoulders. Obey traffic controls Monday through Thursday from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 15/29 (Lee Highway) – Installation of sign between Route 215 (Vint Hill Road) and Route 625 (Pilgrims Rest Road). Be alert for workers near travel lanes Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of traffic detection technology northbound between Route 1150 (Avenel Road) and Route 800 (Old Culpeper Road). Expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Inspection of storm drains between Route 744 (Lovers Lane) and Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Drive). Be alert for workers near travel lanes.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Southbound utility work under VDOT permit between Route 651 (Lees Mill Road) and Route 687 (Opal Road). Obey traffic controls Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of rumble strips on the shoulders between Route 676 (Beverly Ford Road) and Business Route 15 (Hubbards Road). Be alert for slow moving vehicles, expect delays. Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 17 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of sign between Route 628 (Moffett Drive) and Route 628 (Keith Road). Be alert for workers near travel lanes Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 215 (Vint Hill Road) – Installation of sign at Route 652 (Kennedy Road). Be alert for workers near travel lanes Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Use caution when traveling through work zone, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Use caution approaching work zone and obey traffic controls.

Route 725 (Tuckers Lane) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 725. Expect intermittent flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Use caution approaching work zone and obey traffic controls.

Route 731 (Cobbler Mountain Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 731. Expect flagging operations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews work underneath the bridge. Obey traffic controls.

Route 837 (Old Marsh Road) – Pipe replacement just west of Route 674 (Green Road). Road closed to through traffic April 3-17. Route 837 can be accessed from Route 17 (Marsh Road) during the closure.

Fluvanna County

Route 250 (Richmond Road) – Paving operations between the Albemarle County line and Route 600 (Paynes Mill Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Louisa County

(UPDATE) Route 250 (Three Notch Road) – Paving operations between Route 659 (Courthouse Road) and the Goochland County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Madison County

Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Traffic detection technology repairs between Route 662 (Shelby Road) and Route 621 (Jacks Shop Road/Seville Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 603 (Whippoorwill Road) – Shoulder repairs between Route 642 (Duet Road) and Route 643 (Church Hill Road). Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(NEW) Route 609 (West hoover Road) – Shoulder repairs between Route 231 (North Blue Ridge Turnpike) and the Culpeper County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(NEW) Route 665 (Garth Run Road) – Tree removal operations. Be alert for workers near the road Monday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 675 (Fletcher Road) – Pipe replacements from Route 667 (Middle River Road) to the Greene County line. Expect lane closures controlled by flagging Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Orange County

(NEW) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Installation of rumble strips along the shoulders between Route 1019 (Holladay Drive) and Route 780 (Litchfield Drive). Be alert for slow moving vehicles; expect delays Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
