Culpeper District Traffic Alert: July 6-13

road work transportationThe following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. (NEW) or (UPDATE) indicate revisions since last week’s report.

Albemarle County

(NEW) Interstate 64 – Super Load westbound from mile marker 145 to 87. Mobile lane closures Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Obey traffic controls.

(NEW) Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Road closed to through traffic beginning Friday between Route 637 (Dick Woods Road) and Morgantown Road (Route 738) at Ivy for replacement of the bridge over Little Ivy Creek. Use Interstate 64 as alternate route during construction, expect congestion and delays during peak traffic volumes. Project will be complete July 27.

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Monticello Avenue) – Bridge repairs over Moores Creek near Interstate 64. Expect nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

(UPDATE) Route 20 (Scottsville Road) – Installation of signs at Route 720 (Harris Creek Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 20 (Scottsville Road) – Sign work near Mill Creek Drive. Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 20 (Stony Point Road) – Sign repair between Route 641 (Echo Valley Road) and Route 641 (Burnley Station Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Route 20 (Scottsville Road) – Installation of signs near Route 338 (College Drive). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(NEW) Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Sign repair between Route 1403 (Berkmar Drive) to Route 851 (Dominion Drive). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 53 (Thomas Jefferson Parkway) – Sign repair between Route 732 (Milton Road) and Route 795 (James Monroe Parkway). Be alert for workers near travel lanes Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 250 (Ivy Road) – Utility work under VDOT permit near Route 601 (Old Garth Road). Westbound traffic will use the left turn lane. Obey traffic controls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(NEW) Route 250 (Rockfish Gap Turnpike) – Bridge repair between Route 797 (Hillsboro Lane) and Route 689 (Burchs Creek Road). Obey traffic controls Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 600 (Stony Point Pass) –Rehabilitating bridge over Flannigan Branch. All lanes closed, use alternate routes. Anticipated completion mid-August.

Route 654 (Barracks Road) – Construction of sidewalk between Route 601 (Old Garth Road) and Route 656 (Georgetown Road). Expect daily, intermittent lane closures.

Route 810 (Blackwells Hollow Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Halls Creek. Road closed to through traffic June 11-Sept. 7. Use alternate routes.

Various Routes – Road repairs after torrential rain. VDOT operators and contract crews will continue making repairs to several roads. VDOT is working as quickly as possible to get all roads and bridges passable. Check 511Virginia.org for the latest road closures.

Culpeper County

(UPDATE) Route 15 (James Madison Highway) – Raised pavement marker installation between Route 648 (Peacock Lane) and the Madison County line. Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(UPDATE) Route 29 (James Monroe Highway) – Line painting between Route 609 (Hoover Road) and Route 718 (Mountain Run Lake Road). Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(NEW) Route 614 (Locust Dale Road) – Debris removal from Robinson River. All lanes closed at the bridge Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

(NEW) Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Highway) – Sign repairs at Route 652 (Cedar Grove Road). Be alert for workers near the travel lanes Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) – Storm drain repairs near Business Route 15 (James Madison Highway). Expect delays, be alert for workers near travel lanes Thursday and Friday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 688. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Route 715 (Old Carters Mill Road) – Rehabilitating bridge over Cromwells Run. Road closed to through traffic June 11-July 13. Use alternate routes.

Route 724 (Pleasant Vale Road) – Rehabilitating Interstate 66 bridge over Route 724. Expect intermittent lane closures controlled by flagging while crews work underneath the bridge Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

(NEW) Route 20 (Constitution Highway) – Pavement milling between Route 3 (Germanna Highway) and Route 729 (Tannery Road). Expect delays Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

(NEW) Route 608 (Meadows Road) – Rural rustic road improvements including grading, drainage and minor widening. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment on the roadway and anticipate brief delays Monday through Friday. The work is anticipated to continue for approximately four weeks.
