Comedy with a Taste of Jazz at Piedmont Virginia Community College

radio-header2What do you get when you place some of the funniest national comedians and some of the most talented jazz musicians into a blender, turn the blender on then pour the contents into a glass? You get a tall glass of the National Comedy with a Taste of Jazz Series with its third show starring national comedian Liz Miele as seen on the Conan O’Brien Show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Comedy Central.

The comedian will also share the stage with jazz greats, The Robert Jospe Experience. This monumental moment for Charlottesville will take place on Saturday, July 26 at the V. Earl Dickinson Main Stage at Piedmont Virginia Community College. This event is a fundraiser for the CA-SPCA.

The company which created the United Nations of Comedy Tour, the National Stand Up Comedy Series and the Squeaky Clean Comedy Tour provides the third installment of the Comedy with a Taste of Jazz Series.

Comedian Liz Miele has performed stand-up on national programs as mentioned, but not only has she been in your living room on the television screen, Liz has toured the country and overseas. She has shared the stage with many of today’s top comedians and made it difficult for even the best to follow her. Her range of comedy is very wide and she has brilliant material for any audience. Although this show is targeting adults, Liz’s content is not raunchy nor vulgar.

Robert Jospe has been pegged as one of the best drummers on the east coast. His trio hits hard and delivers a jazz sound unheard of today. Some have stated that Robert Jospe has the ability to appear magical on stage. The event promoter tried to figure out a way to top the first two shows with John D’earth and Art Wheeler. Well, that would be impossible, but the shoes have been filled.

The musicians and comedian will perform two sets each, respectively, so prepare your mind to switch from live jazz to comedy and back again. The V. Earl Dickinson Main Stage was chosen as the host venue because of its acoustically enhanced facility and its convenient location, close in proximity to downtown Charlottesville, interstate 64 and route 20.

Tickets are a low $15 for students, seniors and groups of 15 or more, and only $20 for general admission. Tickets are available at the new Sidetracks Music, Plan 9 Music, or Payne’s Beauty Supply or online at www.UnitedNationsofComedy.com For more information contact 434-825-0650.
