Chin, homers push Baltimore past Yankees, 6-2

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesJimmy Paredes, Chris Davis and Alejandro De Aza homered, and Wei-Yin Chin threw seven strong innings, lifting Baltimore to a 6-2 win over New York on Saturday.

Chin (1-1) gave up a run on five hits in seven innings, striking out seven and walking one to earn his first win of 2015. The Orioles improved to 4-2 in Chin’s starts, and the lefty lowered his ERA to 2.52.

The O’s offense touched up Yankees starter Chase Whitley (1-1) for five runs on six hits, and the three homers, in five and two-thirds innings.

The damage was done in the middle innings. Paredes got the Orioles on the board with a solo homer in the fourth, his fifth long ball of the season. A Davis solo shot and a De Aza two-run dinger in the fourth pushed the Baltimore lead to 4-0.

Delmon Young added run-scoring hits in the fifth and seventh.
