Charlottesville Tom Sox outfielder Kevin Conway, a senior from Wake Forest University, is the Valley Baseball League D-BAT Player of the Week for the preceding week’s games from June 21-27.

Conway averaged .523 this last week, as the TomSox went 4-1 with wins over Covington, Waynesboro, Staunton and Aldie.  Conway was 11-21 with 5 runs, three doubles, 4 RBI and 3 walks. He doubled in three consecutive games and contributed RBI in three of five games. He scored the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning in Tuesday’s 5-4 victory over the Waynesboro Generals.

Conway, an outfielder from Franklin, Michigan, is the third recipient this season, selected from candidates nominated by coaches and VBL media relations staff. The first two selections were Strasburg Express first baseman Ryan Flick and Front Royal RHP Indalecio  Romo.

The next D-Bat Player of the Week will be announced on July 6 and be selected from action in games from Sunday, June 28 through Saturday, July 4.
