Charlottesville parks and rec, city schools team up for fun-filled summer

CharlottesvilleBeginning Monday, June 13, Charlottesville Parks and Recreation and the City Schools CLASS Program will run a six-week Summer Program for city children.

The summer program offers children a variety of enriching activities, including arts and crafts, sports, science and nature, swimming, field trips, and much more.

Youth currently in PreK-3rd grades may attend Camp ExL at one of the following City elementary schools; Clark, Venable and Johnson from 9am-4pm, with wraparound care from 7:30am-6pm.

Youth in 4th-6th grades may attend the Pre-Teen Camp at Walker Upper Elementary or Carver Recreation Center from 9am-4pm, with wraparound care from 7:30am-5:30pm.

Youth in 7th-10th grades may attend the Teen camp at Herman Key Recreation Center from 7:30am-4pm.

These sites are enrolled sites, with tuition based on household income.  These sites will be operating Monday-Friday from June 13-July 22 and will be closed on July 4.

In addition to the camps listed above, Herman Key Recreation Center and Carver Recreation Center will be operating an extended three-week program beginning July 25-August 12, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm.
