Capitol Christmas Tree to visit Downtown Staunton

Classic Carriage will escort City Council, accompanied by Stonewall Brigade Tuba Ensemble. Families will enjoy holiday characters, ELFis the Elf and Santa & Mrs. Claus. Smokey the Bear and forestry awareness displays will be provided by the North River District Office of the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest.

Holiday music will be featured from STAR 94.  Goodies for children from the SDDA & Downtown merchants will be available, while supplies last.

The Salvation Army will be accepting toy donations and will offer hot chocolate from their canteen.

Carriage rides from Classic Carriage will be available on Beverley Street, weather permitting. Cost: 6 and under ~ Free; 7 to 12 ~ $3; 13 and over ~ $5.

Your first two hours of parking are free in the Wharf Lot and the Johnson Street Garage through December 30.

Downtown stores will offer holiday activities, specials and refreshments.  See the complete list of participating stores and store hours listed below.
