wayne theatreBig band hits, a Christmas home tour, and series of holiday-themed concerts and classic movies make up the schedule in December at the Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro.

“There’s nothing quite like the magic that comes with the Christmas season, and the Wayne hopes your holiday plans include a performance or movie at the theatre,” said Tracy Straight, the executive director at the Wayne Theatre, which will host 13 holiday-themed events in total in December.

The highlights include a Benny Goodman holiday tribute on Dec. 8, a special Christmas show featuring Wilson Fairchild on Dec. 10, a presentation of The Nutcracker by Albemarle Ballet Theatre on Dec. 11, Winter Wonderland with Mandy Barnett on Dec. 16, and a week of holiday movies including “White Christmas,” “Home Alone” and “Miracle on 34th Street” beginning Dec. 19.

“There’s something for every member of your family, young or old. Treat your family or loved ones in town to the experience of the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center,” Straight said.
