Busy day sends staff scurrying at Staunton Senior Center

sscThursday, July 24 was an incredibly busy day at Staunton Senior Center, so team work was a must!

It all started with the Bone Density Scanner staffed by Augusta Health at 9:00 a.m. which saw twenty-six members, staff, and volunteers, relaying information concerning bone health. Of course the YMCA came to lead exercise as usual that morning, and then Allyssa Clark from Envoy of Staunton arrived to provide a health program on safety in the home and kept members busy learning while staff grilled out and prepared for the cookout being eaten in! Members had prepared yummy dishes and given money towards hotdogs and hamburgers, so a feast was in store for all!

The day was extra special since it was Red Hat Day and July birthday celebration, so there was much red and purple and celebrating going on as Happy Birthday was sung and the traditional drawing for a prize was held. The fun day ended with 40s and 50s standards sung by a talented volunteer–just another fun and busy day at SSC!
