The only score of the game was an own goal as aLynchburg defender’s ball slipped past the Hornets keeper to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute of play.

For the game, Lynchburg owned a 20-7 advantage in shots over the Eagles with 11 of those attempts coming in the final 20 minutes.

The Hornets best chance to tie the game came in the 77th minute when a direct kick by Earl Rimbey hit the crossbar and bounced out of play.

Lynchburg had three corner kick opportunities over the final seven minutes, but each time the Eagles defense was up to the task.
