Bridge replacement on Route 604 in Augusta County begins July 15

road-work-headerPart of Route 604 (McClures Mill Road) in Augusta County will be closed for bridge work for about six weeks beginning Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The Virginia Department of Transportation will replace a bridge over Christians Creek with a box culvert. The location is just south of the intersection with Route 817 (Springleigh Drive) near the community of Greenville.

Detour signs will guide Route 604 traffic around the work zone. Northbound drivers will be directed east on Route 662 (Stover School Road), north on Route 11 (Lee-Jackson Highway) and west on Route 701 (Howardsville Road) back to Route 604. Southbound drivers will take Route 701 east, Route 11 south and Route 662 west to return to Route 604.

The bridge replacement is expected to be complete about August 26, 2014. All work is weather permitting.
