Popular NCAA basketball analyst Dan Bonner will be the featured speaker at the April 22 meeting of the Shenandoah Valley Athletic Club to be held at the Harrisonburg Ramada Inn. The evening will begin with a social at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:50 p.m., followed by what promises to be a very interesting and entertaining program.
Dan Bonner was the team captain and an academic All-ACC performer with the University of Virginia basketball team in the early 1970s. Following graduation, he coached the UVa. women’s basketball team from 1975 to 1977. In the 2002-03 season he was named the Virginia Group AA Girl’s Basketball Coach of the Year as the coach of the Robert E. Lee High School team. He appears regularly as an analyst for CBS during the collegiate basketball regular season and during March Madness. His insights should make for a most interesting evening.
