Bolling brings back Wells for 2013 campaign

Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling announced on Wednesday the hiring of Matt Wells as deputy manager of his 2013 gubernatorial campaign. Wells will join the Bolling for Governor campaign on Aug. 23.

Wells served as the manager of Bolling’s 2009 lieutenant-governor re-election bid after serving as the political director on Bolling’s first run for statewide office in 2005. He also served in that same role on the Jim Gilmore U.S. Senate campaign in 2008.

“We are so glad to have Matt back on board,” Bolling said. “Matt was instrumental in securing a huge convention victory for my re-election campaign in 2009, as well as former governor Jim Gilmore’s successful convention nomination for U.S. Senate in 2008.  His knowledge of the state and longstanding relationships with party members will be an asset as we work to win next year’s convention and the governor’s office in November 2013.”
