Augusta Health will host a program, ‘Beyond the Great American Smoke-Out’ on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 5-7 p.m. in the Augusta Community Care Building, rooms 1 and 2.

The program will be an informal, “Where do I begin?” presentation for those who are considering quitting smoking or tobacco use.  It will feature Mark Robbins, MD, Augusta Health’s Pulmonologist, Dana Breeding, RN, Augusta Health Tobacco Treatment Specialist and a panel of former tobacco users.  Light refreshments will be available.

Every year, the third Thursday of November is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smoke-Out, a day for smokers across the nation to smoke less or quit for the day.  Augusta Health’s event is planned to help people be aware of the many tools and resources that are available to help them plan to quit permanently.

For information, call Dana Breeding at 540.332.4988 or 540.932.4988.
