Beverley Street Studio Gallery to present exhibition from Staunton artist Kathleen Craig

Beverley Street Studio School GalleryBeverley Street Studio School Gallery will host an exhibit of recent paintings from Staunton artist Kathleen Craig from Feb. 28 to April 12.

The exhibit’s opening reception will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the School’s Gallery at 22 W. Beverley St., Downtown Staunton.

Craig will give a brief talk about her work at 6 p.m.. Evening reception and talk are free and open to the public.

Craig holds a MFA in creative writing from Warren Wilson College of Art in Swannanoa, N.C., and a BA in English from Oberlin College, in Oberlin, Ohio.

Craig is an oil painter whose work encompasses still lives, landscapes, and figures. She works from observation, memory and imagination with an emphasis on color, composition, and expression. She has studied with Pamela Black at Piedmont Virginia Community College, Philip Geiger at the University of Virginia, Scott Noel, Bill Scott, and Moe Brooker at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and Barry Nemett and Stuart Abarbanel at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
